Sita was founded by a group of researchers in 1983 as a joint venture with Nielsen Italia.

Its first work tool was the textile panel, a constant monitoring of consumption in the clothing and related sectors performed on a representative sample of the population.

Through the Fashion Consumer Panel, a tool that is unique in Italy even today, ACNielsen Sita gradually became a leading expert on the fashion market in Italy.

In the course of time, company business has gradually expanded with the aim of consolidating ad hoc research in other sectors and, by using innovative methods tried and tested in modern marketing, Sita has created new research areas with a strong consultancy element and has developed an interdisciplinary approach that has been extended to all the other markets.

Sita Ricerca was founded in 2005 when AC Nielsen decided to abandon ad hoc research and the fashion industry. The managers of the “old” Sita (Anna Maria Armano, Alessandra Mengoli, Maurizio Castelli and Fabio Savelli) are all partners in the new independent company.
